At a constant 70MPH, my VR averaged 34.01 MPG over a 600 mile highway trip on (east coast) hilly terrain. My experience is similar - 231,500 km (146k miles) on my VR6, has run excellent, M1 10w30 and Mann filters about every 7500km.

My FIAT uno 1986 was one ofthe first fire engines. The only reason the car stopped was due to it being written off. The engine had done 205,000 miles and was still going strong.
